So I booked Genting Dream Cruise as it is world's first cruise ship with halal certified kitchen (The Lido), serving international food.

My kids have been excited about their cruise trip and were looking forward to it! 😊😊😊

Prior to our trip, we did PCR test at a clinic (within 24 hours prior departure). A bit of drama when the doctor tried to take sample from Aeysha's nose but oh well we survived eventually. Haha

I worried about the weather as it was raining cats and dogs when we left home. Turned out the same sky could be weeping on one end and dry on another. Much like human heart.

We drove to Port Klang Cruise Terminal and was amused to see the gigantic trailers carrying shipping containers along the road. One can park their vehicle overnight at the Port while on cruise for RM20 per entry. I stopped by 99Speedmart right outside the Port to stock up some snacks and drinks (Yes, I know the cruise offers buffet meals 5 times a day). Turned out that was a smart move as my kids kept getting hungry when in the room despite being frequently fed.

Upon reaching the terminal, the first thing we did was to unanimously scream in fangirl mode when we saw the humongous ship from afar and the water slides protruding on top of it.

We dropped our luggage at the cruise counter (had that airport counter vibe). Immediately I noticed, there were so many cruise staff on the ground to assist the entire check in journey! The process was efficient and you will not get lost.

At the first station, they checked our booking details, Covid result cert from clinic and MySejahtera vaccination status. Then we wait at a common area with plenty of seats. For Palace category guests (kinda like the business class of the cruise), they have a separate waiting lounge.

We then proceed to another counter where we get our tags (everyone has their own tag which are cards attached to lanyard). These tags has our name and room number on it and they are so cool! It functions as our room key, ID pass for our food buffet access, and payment method while doing activities (charge to the room kinda concept). The catch here is, your kids might get you charged accidentally (or purposely?). Mine told me 'Mama, I know how to make this machine work!' at the arcade. Turned out she charged her games to the card. Ah, the joy of motherhood 😂😂😂

We went though immigration counter, and after that to another gate where the cruise staff collected our passports.

Right outside the bridge to enter the ship, there were drinks served and cold towels. From end to end, the entire check in process was smooth. Genting Dream Cruise staff were amazing! Not only were we ushered every step of the way, they also went above and beyond to assist.

A staff escorted us all the way to the lift. Another staff offered to push my child's stroller while we were crossing the last bridge to the ship.

A promising start indeed 🥰🥰🥰
