Ironman 70.3 Kenting review
1.Registery fees : Super Early bird group register, ntd8,800 with Taiwan local triclub by end of Dec
2.Travel: From Vietnam to Tpe, then high speed rail or fly to KHH airport, Tour Shuttle bus between zuoying station and kenting, ntd$600/round trip, 2h20-2h35. (From taipei to zuoying, kaohsung high speed rail ntd 1490/one way, within 2h)
3. Accommodation: most of local homestay, there's no hotel options in kenting.Suggest to prebook directly with accommodation owner by mail or tel. It costs ntd1,000 to 2,000 per night, all are located on kenting night market Street, walking distance to event venue is only 1-1.5km, 10-15mins.Every 100meters you can find convenient stores and all kinds of local foods booths, shops.
4. Merchandises expo store: nearly 20 booths in expo to offer you most discounted items and latest bike spare parts, nutritions , apparels , glasses etc.
5. Carb loading buffet: before race, the organizer offer 3 timetable options: Friday dinnder,sat lunch, and sat dinner in Howard hotel resort
6.Race courses
6.1 Swim in little beach inside coastline. but a little bit choppingp outside shore 250m with clear water, not so salty as Asian.Unexpectedly, morning water temp is 23.6℃ only to be allowed wetsuit.
6.2 Windy all the ways on the rolling hills courses which requires high techniques to control the handlebar and hold the aero position
6.3 After 90km cycling, running up hills 3km to 200m national park is another challenge while sun is heating by 11-12am
7. Finishline experience inside conference hall in Howard resort, all family members, friends are there to wait for athletes.Moreover, recovery area right beside, lunch buffet again till 4pm.And I did go to restaurant and beer party in swimming pool as free
